275/5000 The year is 2011 and this conversation is heard in a Rolex boutique.
"Good morning." "Good morning, sir, how can we help you?" "I'd like a great Rolex." "That would be the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master II. Here, sir." "I'll take it, thanks. Hello." "Hello!"
THE GREAT ROLEX
For the longest time, and I will take the blame for this, I fake rolex could not see the Yacht-Master II as anything but The Large Rolex. The 44 mm wide Yacht-Master II was the Rolex go-to-large, with a huge size difference between this and the 40mm Sea-Dwellers, Submariners and others. Debuted in 2007, the Yacht-Master II was followed next year by the absolutely massive Deepsea which was the same width at 44mm but was considerably thicker, so it appeared and wore much, much larger than the YMII, placing it away from the map for the most.
